Ramon Rossignaud graduated Doctor of Laws from the University of Malta in 1973.He was called to the Bar in January 1974 and joined Guido de Marco & Associates in January of the same year. He had been appointed Chairman on the Engineering Board between 1992 and 1996, Chairman of the Planning Appeals Board between 1992 and 1997 and Chairman of the Commission for the Investigation of Injustices between 1989 and 1997. Ramon has occupied the position of Commissioner for Justice from 1988 to 2006.
Between 1988 and 1993, Ramon formed part of the committee set up by the Minister of Justice named "Kumitat ghall-ahjar Amministrazzjoni tal-Qrati", which committee was involved in discussing existing law court administrative problems and presented amendments to be effected to the law (Civil procedures) which amendments came into force in October 1995.
Since 1974 Ramon has been appointed chairman in several "ad hoc" arbitrations, both in the civil and the commercial field. Moreover, he has acted in numerous proceedings, as Counsel on behalf of international companies, concerning disputes involving insurance claims and debt collecting.
Moreover, Ramon presently holds the position of chairman to the Periti (Architects) Warranting Board, chairman of the Petitions Board and since 2003 is also the chairman of the Immigrations Appeal Board. Ramon is also a disciplinary Commissioner with the Malta Football Association.
