Giannella Caruana Curran graduated as Doctor of Laws from the University of Malta in 1982.
Giannella is a partner of the firm and heads the Litigation Department. Her areas of specialisation are Criminal and Commercial Law. She is viewed as one of Malta's leading trial lawyers, having, since 1987, contested over 80 major trials. She formed part of the Defence Team in the Lockerbie Case.
She also took part in the handling of legal work involved in various major projects and acts as legal advisor to major local and foreign firms.
Giannella is the legal advisor to leading Italian construction groups for Malta, in charge of drafting tender documents, giving advice on tender proposals and the drafting and negotiations of various contracts relating to the construction, building and fitting of such project.
She is also legal advisor to the owner of one of Malta's prime real estate development projects. Works included negotiations with the Government of Malta for a share sale transaction valued at US$40m. Giannella has been retained as legal advisor by the Liquidators of a multinational.
She holds the position of Director for companies and is also a Legal advisor on various large construction works.
